Initial treatment is very important!

So let’s treat:

1. Remove the person from danger.
2. Call 000  for burns affecting more than 10% of the body, deep burns, chemical burns, or burns to the airway or sensitive areas.
3. Remove all clothing and jewellery surrounding the affected area (unless it is stuck to the burn).
4. Place the wound under cold running water for 20 minutes.
5. Apply BURNAID Gel liberally over the affected area or apply BURNAID Dressing over the burn. This will help minimize the redness and swelling*. Repeat hourly. If irritation occurs, rinse of with running water.
6. Cover the affected area lightly with a plastic sheet or non-adhesive dressing.
7. For server burns, or if pain persists, seek medical attention.

Things to be avoided

• Don’t break small blisters. If blisters break by themselves, gently clean the area with mildly soapy water.
• Do not put any oil or medicine onto the burnt area (unless directed by a medical professional).
• Do not apply ice, butter, or oily creams.
